4. Parenting
Nancy knocked on the bedroom door and slowly made her way inside the dark room. The only light came from the screen of a laptop and a desk lamp. Roma sat at the large wooden desk over in the corner of the room with papers splashed about him; he preferred to be in the dark than well-lit places, so he usually worked with a minimal amount of light.
Nancy softly closed the door behind herself and made slow steps toward him.
“So, you’re not coming to dinner?” she asked.
He stayed turned with his back facing her and didn’t respond.
Nancy sighed. “Can’t you just come down stairs? (name) seems as if she would really like to talk to you.”
He let out an agitated breath and turned to her in his office chair as he asked, “How did you even figure out who she was?”
Nancy placed her fists on her hips as she stepped closer. “I should be asking you why you never told me about her!”
